Set in idyllic countryside, with great views to hills at front and woodland walk to rear. The property is at the top of a private track (quite bumpy) and is 9 miles from Dumfries (railway station here) and 10 miles from Castle Douglas. The house is bigger than it looks in photograph and is divided into two self-contained units, each with its own access door.
One unit is offered here, with 2 paddocks, 2 stables, feed store, area of woodland, organic vegetable plot and big garden surrounding house.
The rent includes council tax, utility bills, wi-fi and TV licence.
There is a good-sized sitting room with woodburner, double bedroom, big kitchen with glass back door to rear garden. Also front door, small vestibule and corridor - all rooms on ground floor. The house is double glazed with central heating (on a timer - mornings and evenings).
Grazing is suitable for up to 4 sheep/goats/2 Shetland ponies etc (paddocks are approx 0.6- 0.75 acres each). 2 pigs could be reared in separate enclosure with small shed. A few hens would be welcome.
Max one medium-sized dog or 2 small dogs (must be well-behaved and good with other animals) and 2 cats.
The tenants in other part of house are two quiet professional male tenants in 20's and 30's who work long hours, with 2 pet cats. One often has 2 whippets to visit at weekends.
We are looking for a peaceful person/couple used to living in the countryside and willing to maintain the outbuildings and fencing at least in their current state and to do some gardening and, hopefully, growing organic vegetables. Sorry no dog/cat breeders or herd animals to be kept without a companion.
Tenancy would be 6-months short-assured, hopefully extending to long-term.
