| We require, to buy, a rural, detached home with a minimum of 3 bedrooms, preferably with some land, and also outbuildings if possible. A small-holding would be ideal. A house on the outskirts of a village would be good, or further away from a villiage is also fine. The house can be in any area, preferably towards the south [Northallerton] and it has to be within 20-30 mins of Acklam, Middlesbrough [Cleveland/North Yorkshire] as we have an autistic family member who attends a special school there. We need to be about 1 mile from any [seriously] major road for his safety. One of the main reasons we wish to move is to greatly improve our child’s quality of life. Currently we live in a town and he cannot even play outside as he does not have good road sense. He would greatly benefit some countryside air and a bit of freedom and space! We have a reasonable budget and work from home through an online business. We are, of course, enthusiastically prepared to undertake renovation and updating, but we are not builders so total conversion is beyond our capabilities - I think the term is ‘project house’!
